Lady Day

Tuesday 5 April

Yesterday was ‘Lady Day’, when the Mothers Union for the Huddersfield Episcopal Area celebrated the faith and trust of Mary.

The Mothers Union, fondly recognised by some as the paramilitary wing of the Church of England; well,  were called together and came to Huddersfield Parish Church. I must say they  sang heartily and with considerable vigour. So many powerful ladies in on place, acknowledging the ‘yes’ and the service of Mary to this world.

Easter and the Assumption fit together nicely.
