John the Evangelist has a great eye for detail in his accounts of Jesus.
At the wedding in Cana there were six stone water jars, used for ceremonial washing, each held from twenty to thirty gallons. The servants filled the jars to the brim with water and then took it to the master of the banquet. Those in the know and those none the wiser are obvious.
We have the story of water into wine.
Reaction to and statement of Jesus first miracle follow the detail.
God’s grace is often oblivious, but the credit often is focussed elsewhere and and on someone else. But when water becomes wine rejoice and know something of a God moment.
