Read Between the Lines.

Monday 4th January

I don’t want to worry you….I don’t want to gossip…
I was told in confidence….
And the all-time favourite:
With respect…..
I wish to have a consultation on this……

All these gems, and I’m sure you can think of others, are designed to do exactly the opposite of what they promise not to do. In other words what I am about to say will make you worry, will be gossip, is not going to be confidential in any shape or form, I will neither be respectful or respect you one iota and don’t expect me to listen to you at all.

Just watch the TV News or read the paper or listen carefully….

Oh and never prefix and sentence….. someone might just be listening and take offence!

And look at the Jesus story and you’ll find people trying to trap Jesus in the prefix.
